In early March, European Union Aviation Safety Agency hosted the 3rd EASA FRM Conference in the beautiful coastal city of Split, Croatia. Organised together with the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency, the event brought together regulators, operators, researchers, crew organisations and industry solution providers to discuss the evolving landscape of fatigue risk management in aviation.
Over two days, participants explored both regulatory and operational perspectives on fatigue management. Discussions covered topics ranging from air taxi and single-pilot operations to the practical implementation of FRM, the use of biomathematical models, and the challenges of balancing crew rostering with operational realities.
The conference featured insightful presentations and valuable panel discussions, encouraging open dialogue on issues such as fatigue reporting, the integration of FRM within Safety Management Systems, and translating scientific insights into operational practice.
Beyond the sessions, the conference offered excellent networking opportunities in the inspiring setting of Split — highlighting the importance of collaboration in advancing flight safety.
A big thank you to European Union Aviation Safety Agency and the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency for bringing the industry together. For those interested, the Jeppesen presentation on the practical application of “Appropriate FRM” is available via this link which includes references to many additional resources on the topic.
