A few weeks ago, Air Line Pilots Association hosted a Fatigue Management Seminar in McLean, Virginia, where Jeppesen also attended and presented. You can find ALPA’s summary of the event via the link provided here.
One of the standout sessions featured a benchmarking exercise in which three bio-mathematical models (one of them being BAM) were used to analyze the same crew pairings. The pairing of particular interest included a layover in Las Vegas and resulted in disrupted sleep across two consecutive nights.
Jeppesen conducted its analysis using CrewAlert, demonstrating “live” how also potential mitigation strategies could be developed and evaluated.

If you have CrewAlert installed with the power featuresenabled, you can explore this pairing yourself. Simply scan the QR code here provided to load it as a scenario into CrewAlert on your iPhone or iPad. From there, experienced users can easily adjust assumptions and sleep/wake patterns to investigate alternative strategies for preparation and fatigue risk mitigation.
